Special Events

MFPE Treasurer, Fern Ettinger, introduced the guest speaker, Mark Fancher, at our December 7, 2009 meeting. Mr. Fancher, ACLU Michigan's Racial Justice Project Attorney, spoke on "Reclaiming Michigan's Throwaway Kids."

Mindy Nathan, Dean of the Tri-County Education Center and MFPE member, describes the high school completion and credit recovery program to visiting MFPE guests at a June meeting.

Fran Anderson, the MFPE Chair, was chosen to receive the "Dorothy Beardmore Service to Education Award." The award was presented by State Board of Education President, Kathleen Straus, at the August 14, 2007 State Board of Education meeting. Many MFPE members were in attendance and joined Fran in celebration as she received this most prestigious honor. Chair Fran Anderson receives award from Board President Kathleen Straus.
